I brought in a watch that belonged to my grandfather — a Thai military-issue piece from the 1960s. I was nervous about leaving it anywhere. Kritsana photographed every surface on arrival and talked me through exactly what he was going to do before starting. The dial looks clean without losing what makes it an old piece. I would not take anything like this anywhere else in Chiang Mai.

Brought my everyday stainless steel sports watch in for polishing. The finish on the bracelet had gone quite dull and there were scratches on both lugs. What came back had a consistent brushed finish all the way around — matched the case properly. The timeline they gave me was accurate and they called when it was ready rather than making me chase for updates. Good experience overall.

I collect mid-century pieces and have tried a few places in Thailand for case work. Most either refuse to touch older cases or polish them in a way that rounds off all the original edges. Tickwright understood immediately what I was asking for — a tidy-up that keeps the patina on the dial and the crisp lugs on the case. The result was exactly right. Not cheap, but appropriate work never is.

Three jobs that illustrate the range of work that comes through the workshop.
The situation
A 1972 Thai-market automatic brought in by the original owner's son. The dial had surface oxidation and the case had been polished by someone previously in a way that had softened the original edges considerably. Owner wanted it tidied but was concerned about losing more of what remained.
The approach
Assessment confirmed the dial surface was stable — the oxidation was aesthetic rather than damaging. Gentle cleaning brought the contrast back without touching the original printing. The case was not refinished further given the prior work; instead edges were carefully re-defined where it was possible to do so reversibly.
The outcome
Dial visibly improved. Case presented slightly better without losing any additional original character. Owner satisfied that work respected the piece's age. Completed in 12 days including the initial assessment period.
The situation
A German expat's daily-wear steel watch — 3 years of desk and travel scratches. The brushed upper surfaces of the case had taken scratches and the polished lower flanks had light swirling from previous amateur cleaning attempts.
The approach
Brushed surfaces re-cut with appropriate tools to restore the directional finish. Polished flanks cleaned back using progressively finer compounds until the swirl marks were removed without over-polishing. Crown assessed — some marks noted to owner as beyond the scope of surface work.
The outcome
Case returned with consistent brushed and polished surfaces. Owner provided before and after photographs as part of the handback. Completed in 5 working days.
The situation
An HR team at a logistics company needed 18 watches prepared for a retirement and long-service event. Each piece required individual case-back engraving with name and years of service, and all needed to be in presentation boxes matching the company's event branding.
The approach
Engraving coordinated across 3 separate batches to fit within the engraving partner's schedule. Presentation boxes sourced to match the colour brief provided by the client. Each piece checked individually against the engraving list before packaging. All 18 checked off against the delivery manifest.
The outcome
Full batch delivered 3 days ahead of the event date. Two items required minor engraving corrections which were resolved within the schedule. HR team received itemised delivery record and individual photographs of each engraved case-back for their files.
